The mural project team is seeking out UNC students, alumni, faculty, or staff for a collaborative art display to be housed at the AAC for Asian Pacific American Heritage Month focused on Asian American experiences. Each artist will use a provided canvas to create an artistic reflection of an Asian American historical event from the 1950s-present to create a legible narrative of Asian American histories and experiences. There will be an artistic thread in the background of each canvas to bring them together (as an example, birds flying from canvas to canvas). Artists will collaborate with one another to decide on this common thread, but will have control of their piece otherwise. Our goal is to highlight the experiences and histories of Asian Americans to create an educational and artistic experience to celebrate APHAM.
