The June Yom Student Award, gift of Eugene Y. Lao ‘91, supports a current UNC Chapel Hill student with a grant of $2,500. We are delighted to be able to offer this award this year to support students during the summer of 2025. These funds can support an individual student to conduct research on an academic/professional project, work on an artistic project, or support an unpaid internship with a community organization doing with with/for Asian American communities.
For students without a project or an internship in already in place for the summer, students also have the option to apply for a summer internship at the Asian American Center.
The application consists of identification and contact questions, a project/research proposal (or a statement of purpose if you are applying for an internship with the AAC), a CV, and two references. The deadline for this application is Monday, March 31st at 5:00 pm EST.
