Southern Mix Award

The Southern Mix Award provides one undergraduate $3,000 in funding and the opportunity to work directly with SOHP on the Southern Mix project during the summer of 2022. Southern Mix: Asian and Asian American Voices in the South is a collaborative project between the Asian American Center, the Carolina Asia Center, and the SOHP. The grantee will work 15 hours per week for 10 weeks (May 17-July 29, 2022) during the summer to assist SOHP with transcription and audit-editing of Southern Mix interviews, writing abstracts, helping to process materials for deposit in the Southern Historical Collection at the Wilson Special Collections Library, review of existing materials to assist with the curation of content for the new Southern Mix website, and the potential to conduct new interviews. To apply, submit a resume, a two-three page letter of interest outlining your interest in working on the project, along with the name and contact information of one faculty reference.

The application deadline is Friday, March 11, 2022 at noon EST.
